Soul wining (Our Ministry)

*Soul Wining (A Ministry For Every Believer) ~ Pastor Chris Oyakhilome*

*_"...God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation" (2 Corinthians 5:19)._*

To a lot of people, the preaching of the gospel ought to be only from behind the pulpit. This is not true. God didn't assign the preaching of the gospel to a select few in the body of Christ. In fact, the office of the apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers is not to the world, but to the Church. The Bible says in Ephesians 4:11-12, *_"And he gave some, apostles; and some prophets; and some evangelists; and some pastors and teachers; for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry...."_*

These five-fold ministry gifts in the Church are for the perfecting of the saints, so that the saints can do the work of the ministry. What is this work of the ministry? It is the preaching of the gospel to the peoples of the world. This is what the Bible refers to as the ministry ofreconciliation; it's a ministry for every believer.

The moment you became a child of God, having eternal life, with the infilling of the Holy Ghost, you became a witness of His resurrection; a minister of reconciliation. That's your office! You're a witness of eternal life, a preacher and proof-producer. Every Christian has been called to carry out this great ministry of reconciliation; it's the greatest ministry that could ever be given to any man.

The Bible says there's more joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine just persons that need no repentance (Luke 15:7). Let all of heaven resound with joy everyday, as you fulfil your duty as a minister of divine verities by leading someone to Christ. Let your daily routine and engagements accomodate actions and activities that culminate in leading people to Christ. This is your priestly ministry as a believer.

Make the connection

*MAKE THE CONNECTION ~ PASTOR CHRIS OYAKHILOME* Hebrews 13:5-6 “Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”” “I still feel the pain in my leg,” Della said to her cell leader just after the cell meeting. “Della, we just finished listening to Pastor’s message on healing. You should be confessing your healing instead of complaining. That’s how to respond to God’s word the right way.” Like Della, many people don’t respond the right way to the Word, thereby making it ineffective. Jesus scolded the Jews about this in Mark 7:13 NIV: “ …You nullify the word of God by your tradition that you have handed down. And you do many things like that.” Can you imagine nullifying the Word of God, which created the universe? Sadly, that’s the way it is in the lives of many. The Word doesn’t work in th...

Tame the tongue

James 3:5 Learning to tame your tongue is very important. The tongue, as small as it is, can do the greatest good or harm depending on how you use it. While some have sadly talked themselves into trouble with their tongues, others have used theirs to chart their way to victory. Learn to use your tongue right by only speaking wholesome and blessed words.
